Weekend Update

No, not the one on Saturday Night LIve; this is a weekend update for my life. And a busy weekend it was…

Friday night was pretty cool. Breezomatic was in town and we went down to the newly-remodeled Missipi Brewing Company and took in the Spatterdash show. I’ve said before that these guys rock, and Friday was no different. Breezomatic and I were there at the start of the show and closed the place down. Talk about a couple of partyers!!

Saturday, however, was a different story. No rest for the partyers today. Breezomatic had to move from one apartment (a two bedroom unit) in her complex to another (a one bedroom unit) because her roommate graduated. This meant a lot of work for KC and I. Thank goodness for Al, Sue and the boys to come up and help us move her; she had also asked her friend Dawn. Paying for ice cream at Coldstone Creamery was a small price to pay for the great help they provided. All the work, however, wore me out. Before we left, I hooked up Breezomatics computer and made sure it worked for her.

Saturday was also the day ZDog moved from one apartment in West Des Moines to another. Only J moved in to the new apartment. ZDog moved in with his best man until after the wedding. Contrary to many couples of today, ZDog and J are not living together until AFTER they are married. While KC and I know where the new apartment is, we couldn’t help with the move because of Breezomatic’s move. ZDog, however, was prepared and had a number of friends help with his move.

Sunday was a “day of rest”. KC and I slept in (thank goodness!!). We just had groceries and laundry to fill up the day. Still that was work because my back was pretty much shot from the moving on Saturday.

Monday was another “day of rest”. We went to a friends graduation reception for their youngest son. (Congratulations, Jim!) Also we pretty much hung out and did some house cleaning of our own.

What a whirlwind!!
