Ain’t It Funny?

Ain’t it funny how real life tends to get in the way of blogging life? Here it is on Sunday night and I’m finally getting around to my first post since late Friday night (or early Saturday morning depending upon how you look at it!).

Yesterday, KC did the “Walk for Life” thing in the early morning and then went to the blood center where she donates her time; I went out and bought groceries and such for around the house. Then we did a lot of cleanup around the house. Later we kept A-Train, C-Dude and Little Nicky (my brother’s three boys) overnight. I made pizza for them, and I do make a pretty good pizza even if I do say so myself. The three boys were picked up this afternoon by my brother and his wife. Also today, I painted a lot of wrought-iron railing that is in our house. I will paint the actual handrails a second coat but the first coat is for the entire thing. Also, KC mowed yard and I ran the weed-eater. THEN, we went out with friends and golfed 9 holes. Also during all this we managed to do laundry as well - I’m finishing up drying the pants (we usually hang-dry the pants and then touch-up dry them in the dryer). OOOF-dah! Seems like I’ve had no weekend to call my own!

Tonight, I finished converting a friend’s website. He used to use Blogger for his post creation. However, since Blogger has been re-invented, he can no longer post. Turns out that his site only accepts active FTP with no plans to change and Blogger only does passive FTP or secure FTP with no plans to add active FTP. Caught between a rock and a hard place. After checking around, I found a great replacement called Blogworks XML. It runs on ASP (his site is run on an IIS server) right on his web space. Got it installed, got the main templates converted, and tested it. Seemed to work with the testing, so I used w.bloggar to convert all the posts from his Blogger account to the BlogWorks XML format. The dates are not right as they look as though they were all posted today instead of their actual post date, but it seems to be OK other than that. He should be pleased.
